Use suitable chargers and cables

Clean gently

Store batteries sensibly

Update and reset before transfer
For connected devices, install legitimate firmware updates from the product's supported app or source. Before selling, gifting or recycling a device, sign out of accounts and perform the appropriate factory reset to remove personal data.
